Here we all are! We take our teams to this park because it is great to take pctures, but it is also a unique place to do intercession for the city. On a good day, which it was last Monday, you can see for miles. Mount Rainier was out, the ferries we all on the water, the city was busy with life.

It was a special time to hear God's heart for this city, and join Him in bringing transformation!

All the students started their weekly outreaches this past week. For the next three monthe they will be volunteering at 2 different places each week. Homeless shelters, afterschool care facilities, an elderly home, and working with Refugees. Everyone had such great attitudes as they went out this week, and served. It was cool to see their enthusiasm, and a reminder to me of what a privilege it is to get to be out in the city, buliding reletionships with people who are not seen as desirable by many in society.

On Friday night we take Hot Chocolate downtown to a few different parks, and along the waterfront. We took the DTS for the first time this Friday night, and had such a great time. The weather is really starting to turn here, and the nights are getting much colder, so the Hot Chocolate was gladly received.

I met a man, probably in his late 50's, an African American, who's name was Robert. He was a little hard to understand as he spoke to us, he was an alcoholic. He started to talk a little about his life before the streets. His father had been a Pastor in the South, and he had grown uo knowing the Lord. He kept repeating how he 'knew the Word from Genesis to Revelation'. He kept saying how he had been 'backsliding' and how he hadn't been preaching the word even though he knew it and how he was punished for that. Then he looked at me and said something about how empty his life was, and how much it hurts him inside to be away from God. He broke down and started crying. This older man was standing on the streets, in dirty clothes, beer cans all around, and he was so broken.

I believe in that moment i was able to see his heart. He said he was ready to be off the streets, that from ' next week' it was all going to change. We asked if we could pray with Him and he agreed, so we did. It is so hard to make a change to get off the streets. People we meet make claims like this all the time, and it is hard not to disregard them without a second thought. Sometimes it can seem so hopeless. I don't think Robert has family around, just his street friends, but i am praying that if he is really wanting to make a change, people who can help and encourage him will come alongside him this week and be the support he needs.

I am praying that if he is still out on the streets this Friday night, i will have the chance to talk to Robert again.

So good to see you all! Praying that God will bless you as you learn and share together.

Chrissie - thank you for bringing God's love into Robert's life. I'm praying with you that this week will be a fresh start in his life.

Love you, Mum xx

Chrissie - reading about Robert made me cry. How we take things for granted having a home and family, people who care, warmth and money. So many people are crying out for just a little recognition and God's love. You can teach us so much to use here in our community.
I will pray for Robert..a special name to me.
With Love
Tracey
